7 Ways to Follow Through With Being Brave

Some may think of confidence as brave and some may find it an act of courage. Basically the most important is not the declaration that you will seek it. It is following through.

How many times have you begun something and locate a folly with the process and poof it is done there is no more?

The Lies We Tell OURSELVES

  • It is no big deal.
  • I am not hurting anyone.
  • I’ll try again on Monday or next  year.

Stopping the Madness

  • Acknowledgement is the first key.
  • Follow through is the next key
  • Finishing it to the end is the final key.

Acknowledgment:

Yes, you recognize the pattern. You know that you need to adjust the dial. So, let’s be brave by admitting that this is a problem and that there needs to be a change.

Follow Through: 

For some it is easy to begin something; but humans are not programmed to keep going. You were built to change and alter as it is necessary. However, do you keep eating when you are full, refuse to get off the couch, physically inflict pain to your body and the list goes on and on.

It takes 21 days to create a habit and 28 days for this to become a pattern that you will readily identify with. So, don’t be too harsh on yourself.  When there is a will there is a way and no one can stop you.

Anxiety is a nasty beast, but instead of letting the anxiety bully you. Stop, take a few deep breaths and count backwards 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 and just do it.  Mel Robbins of 5 Second Rule has a great mojo.

Finishing it to the End

Another way to say follow through is to finish it to the end. Do not let anyone, including yourself, stop your flow. Get in your groove and go, go, go. You can do this!

Set a goal, it can be big or small; just set it. Count down 21 days and mark this on the calendar. Next, find an accountability buddy who will not only cheer you on, but will also call you out if needed. Make a pact with this individual; do it together or you go first and then immediately reciprocate.

Ready, set, the count down in on and 1 day will zip past and become 21 and voila. Go for another week and you’ve got this!!

If you have read the first blog of the year, then you know there’s a surge of confidence gracing my words, pages and aesthetic. However, if you are just seeing this blog; please reference my Word of the Year post.

I adore the song True Colors by Cindy Lauper.  There is so much that resonates.  “… don’t be afraid …to show them Your true colors. True colors are beautiful. Like a rainbow.”  

We all have darkness that nests within. The small ego voice that says, “Don’t show them who you are.”

Better yet, do not listen to the ego; rise up & show you as the beautiful rainbow of chakra colors and aura that you are.

Courage 

Stand by Commitment Courageous Magical Blessings ConfidenceCourage is showing others who you are.  This is not the mask that is placed upon you and/or who you may believe that you are; rather this is who you are when you strip away the facades and stand with the Divine part of you.

Not everyone will find you to be their cup of tea, and that is just fine. Those who resonate with you, will also vibe with you.

Above all please stop asking permission to be you.

9 ways to Sprinkle a Dash of Boldness

  • Know your boundaries. Self care is a mega form of boundaries
  • Self Care is essential. Make time to do things that love you up!
  • Mentally allow yourself to change; ebb and flow like the seasons. Life will not remain constant and let yourself grow by learning, experiencing and living.
  • Physically love you up with nourishing foods, work out and rest with sleep and/or  just lazy days.
  • Emotionally allow yourself to feel. Open the flow and allow you to feel your feelings on a deep level. Do not dismiss them; invite them in and explore why you have these feelings and gently release this as lessons that can help you be happy, successful and amazing.
  • Spiritually connect with your version of Spirit. Have a nice conversation
  • Meditate; this does not have to be strict. This could be a 5 min. tea break. Sit and let your mind wander.
  • Be mindful of what you say to yourself. Speak lovingly, gently and softly to you.
  • Look at what you are thinking about others. Is this a way for you to focus on them, rather than looking at what you need and want.

Rise up and be you! There is no one like you; you are destined to be you, so why no just do it.

Serenity is the state of being calm, peaceful and untroubled.  The serenity prayer specifies: courage, wisdom and changes. There are many factors to understand and bring this forth.

Courage

Serenity Inside Job Change Chance Transition Transformation Magical Blessings Courage Wisdom This is the ability to do something that frightens you. Being able to accept when something is for you and when you should walk away.

Do you hear the failure signal sounding? I say HUSH. Sometimes you need to fail in order to succeed. So, something did not turn out just you expected (time to forgo those expectations). That does not mean that it is the end of the world, that your life is ending and please, oh please do not create an anxious woe of self-doubt.

You are better than that and deserve to be treated, including by you, well. Wellness is a way to establish deep inner peace and being able to let go that which you cannot change; the courage to let go of an expected outcome and flow into what Divine Spirit has concluded for you. Do not turn and glance over your shoulder with regret, rather take a moment and learn from this situation. Grow through your soul and be happy to succeed, even if it feels like failing.

Wisdom

Something did not go as expected. May be you spent time fretting about it and played this over and over in your head. Anxiety happens to the best of us, and it sure would be great if that negative voice called the ego: SHUT UP.

This is where the wisdom arrives. You can change and control only you; no one else. Therefore, it is imperative to let go of what others say and do. Use your anxiety and self-doubt as a teaching tool. Stop looking to this as negative. There are times when your intuition warned you about something and you did change your direction. Say, you get a sick feeling to not attend a get together and  at the last minute you turn down a different street only to see in your rear view mirror a major accident. What seemed like introverted anxiety was your intuition guiding you away from danger.

It is the the knowing; what is woe and doubt and what is a deeper understanding. Listen to your gut; it can help you.

Change

Change Transition Transformation Magical Blessings Serenity Inside JobBe the powerful change for you. You are the change. Yes, if you have anxiety and self-doubt this can seem out of control. Yet, if you alter the idea of this, you taking both courage and wisdom to make a change for you.

When you are ready and able to make small manageable adjustments is when you are better able to follow through with change. This is creates peace within you. You are calm. Which leaves you less troubled.

Putting This All Together 

In life there will be anxious woes of doubt. You are powerful and can make a courageous change for the wise. Then one day what seemed to tear you apart is your greatest tool and ally.
